Work With Us

We are excited that you are thinking of joining us, either working in our central office or at St Paul's Way Trust or Royal Greenwich Trust School as a member of staff or governor.  UST is a small, growing and dynamic trust.  We are small enough to know and care about the professional development of every single employee, and through our influential trust partners we have increased the scope of our work and the opportunities available for our students and our staff.

I qualified as an English teacher in 2009 and started my NQT year at a UST school in 2010. Following a successful NQT induction, I was promoted to the role of “Year Team Leader” for 3 years. This was the platform I needed to expand my experience first becoming a Subject Driver in the English Faculty and then a Subject Leader for Key Stage 4, focusing on the recent changes to the GCSE framework. From there I became Head of Faculty, and this year I joined the Senior Leadership team of my school as a Director of Learning, responsible for Key Stage 3.  The support, training and encouragement nI have received has been really wonderful.

After a successful career in Music and Retail, I retrained as an English Teacher at the University of Greenwich. As part of my training, I was incredibly fortunate to be placed at a brand new UST school. I liked it so much I jumped at the opportunity to take a full time position here to complete my NQT year. Having successfully completed my first year, I am now honoured to also be a Form Tutor and embrace the wider pastoral duties this involves.  To be part of such a vibrant and diverse community is a privilege and a constant source of delight. Having met all my new classes for the forthcoming academic year, I look forward to being a key part of their learning journey.

I made the decision to work in education because I wanted a career that would allow me to have an impact on the lives of others. I am eager to develop myself and my colleagues to ensure that students have the best possible provision and experiences.  Working in a UST school that promotes excellence for all its staff and students, and their ethos of us all learning together, is what attracted me to be part of a forward-thinking community where the students are at its heart. Senior leaders invest in developing and retaining staff which has led me to rapidly progress through my roles at a middle and senior level. The broad range of training and development opportunities given to me were carefully chosen and have helped me to become an integrally member of my school’s senior leadership team.

Last year I had my PGCE placement at a UST school and I was really delighted to be appointed to the post of KS5 Science Coordinator for this academic year. During my NQT year I had the opportunity to teach A level Chemistry, and to coordinate practical endorsement in A level Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which has really stretched my ability to multi-task and work under pressure. My school has granted me the opportunities to enhance my professional development and management skills. I am looking forward to meeting my new students, and sharing my passion for Science across the whole school.

I work with the exams team beginning my career at a UST school in 2016, completing my Apprenticeship in Business and Administration (Level 3).  I became an integral member of the school team working on the JP Morgan Enterprise and Employability Project, working with businesses in the local community and raising the profile of local enterprise.  Since then I have taken up a number of opportunities, but I really feel I have found my work home in the exams office.  With my support, I am looking to keep progressing my career within the school.

Manjit

I joined my school in September 2018 as a Receptionist, having previously worked mainly in a University setting.  Previously I worked for the University of East London as a Student Hub Advisor.  Working with much younger students has been really interesting and a big change. Students and staff at my school have been so friendly and welcoming, and it really is a very caring community here. Every day I meet many new faces and I am enjoying learning how a school works with all the different procedures.
