Gail is Director of Civic Engagement at the University of East London, a trustee of UST and chairs its Communciations, Marketing and Strategy Committee.
Gail has worked in education for twenty-five years, the last twelve of which of which have been at the University of East London in externally facing roles. Gail joined UEL as the Head of Education and Community Partnerships in a role focused on widening participation to higher education and building relationships with local schools, colleges and local authorities. In April 2017 Gail was promoted to the role of Director of Civic Engagement to develop a campus culture of civic engagement, to create community based learning opportunities for UEL students and to build sustained relationships with the voluntary and community sector and with a range of civic organisations.
Starting her career as a drama teacher at Plashet School in Newham, Gail has retained a strong connection to east London throughout her career including as Head of Further Education and Schools at the London East Learning and Skills Council.
Gail brings significant experience in governance and trustee roles to the Trust.
