Ijaz left one of our schools earlier this year having achieved 3A*s in his A Levels in Chemistry, Maths and Biology. He has now gone on to student Medicine at Queen Mary University, having been awarded the St Bart’s Medical Bursary to cover the costs of his studies. Ijaz took part in a series of opportunities to help him to prepare for a career in medicine including work experience at the respiratory department at Bart’s NHS Trust, being part of the sixth form’s medical society and leading medical debates.
Killian is in Year 12 and is studying for a Triple Award BTEC Engineering and is working towards a degree and a career in the field of civil engineering. From his very first lesson, Killian threw himself into his studies and while acknowledging that the transition from GCSE to A level was a huge leap for him, he has worked hard and sought advice and guidance from his teachers, tutors and the Sixth Form team to ensure he succeeds.
Zahra has excelled in her studies and became an important member of the school community when her involvement in youth politics took her to New York and a visit to the United Nations General Assembly. Now in Year 13, Zahra is Head Girl in one of our schools and is studying for her A Levels in Spanish, Geography and English Literature, in pursuit of an ambition to study Geography at university next year.
Ryan is one of our music scholars. He started playing the piano aged 10 and is now grade 7. He has performed on many large stages, including the Barbican. He was recently featured on the BBC as part of the school orchestra. Currently studying for his Music GCSE he especially likes playing Chopin and Haydn, is an admirer of Tokyo Myers and outside of music he is also excelling at computer studies.
Khadija, Year 13, studies Chemistry, Psychology and English Literature, and is applying to study English at a Russell Group university. Khadija’s diligence and motivation are second-to-none, and she works tirelessly to improve her grades to achieve her goals. Khadija enjoys studying in one of our Sixth Form as she feels very well supported and knows she can ask her teachers for as much help as she needs.
Gavin is in Year 13 studying a Triple Award BTEC in Engineering and is aspiring to go to university to study Civil Engineering at the end of Year 13. Enthusiastic and outgoing, Gavin has been one of the most dedicated members of our Student Ambassador Programme during his time here and has represented the school at a number of Open Evenings and other school events. He is a very motivated student who demonstrates excellent leadership qualities in inspiring his peers to dedicate their time effectively to their studies. Gavin loves the school because it has enabled him to develop his skills outside of the classroom, which will be vital for his future career.
