We are delighted to celebrate Amila Ahmed, Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Cyril Jackson Primary School, who attended the King’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of her outstanding services to education.

Earlier this year, Amila was awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year 2026 Honours List, a prestigious national honour recognising more than two decades of dedication to children, families and the wider community.

Amila was nominated in 2024 by UST Trust Leader Gillian Kemp, who has seen first-hand the remarkable impact of her work. Following an independent assessment process, the nomination was endorsed by the Main Honours Committee.

Hosted by His Majesty The King, the Garden Party welcomed guests from across the country who have made exceptional contributions to their communities and professions.

Taking place in the grounds of Buckingham Palace, the event recognises individuals whose dedication and service have had a lasting impact on the lives of others. Amila’s invitation to attend reflects the significance of her contribution to education and the difference she has made to generations of children and families throughout her 21 years at Cyril Jackson Primary School.

Throughout her career, Amila has gone above and beyond to support pupils both academically and personally, ensuring children feel safe, valued and confident in their abilities.
