Recently, Canary Wharf Secondary was delighted to welcome local families through its doors for its first Open Day of the new academic year, providing visitors with a wonderful opportunity to experience the school and discover the exciting learning taking place across the community.
The Open Day offered families a genuine insight into life at Canary Wharf Secondary, with visitors able to explore the school, meet staff and students and take part in a range of activities. Guests were invited to participate in sports activities within the school’s sports hall, listen to informative talks and experience the engaging approach to learning that students enjoy every day.
Science was a particular highlight, with visitors given the opportunity to witness and take part in practical experiments exploring the different colours produced by a Bunsen burner flame. These activities provided an exciting demonstration of how scientific knowledge can be explored through practical experiences, encouraging curiosity and a love of learning.
The Trust is incredibly proud of the students who volunteered to support the Open Day. They played an important role in hosting activities, welcoming families and helping visitors make the most of their time at the school. Their enthusiasm, confidence and maturity were a fantastic reflection of the wider school community.
For prospective families, the Open Day was a valuable opportunity to get a true taste of what Canary Wharf Secondary has to offer and witness learning in action. It showcased the facilities, opportunities and experiences available to students while highlighting the welcoming and ambitious environment the school continues to build.
The Open Day reflects our mission of providing transformational education for all, ensuring every young person has access to inspiring experiences that develop their knowledge, character and confidence and help them succeed.
