Recently, RGTS’s Year 10 pupils completed work placements, and we were afforded the opportunity to host two young people from the school within the Central Team.

Andrew and Alexa were a huge credit to the school and were a reminder of our purpose in all that we do to ensure ‘transformational education’ is the right of every child we serve.

Their positivity and curiosity really stood out and it reflected on the importance of ensuring that we provide environments, opportunities and experiences for our students so that they can thrive far beyond their time with us.

This was reinforced when we were contacted about one of our SPW alumni, Samira Elbahja, who is studying architecture at the University of Cambridge, and has also just self-published her very first poetry anthology.

Whether it was taking part in school musicals, debating contests or design competitions, Samira maximised her time at the school through the wonderful opportunities we were able to present her with.

It is always wonderful to be reminded of the impact we are having on young lives. We hope each and everyone of you get your own personal reminders in the term ahead.

As we now enter the examination period, we know everyone will all be pulling together to support our students through what can be a very challenging period.
