Exploring Futures at the Woolwich Works Futures Fair

Year 11 students from Royal Greenwich Trust School recently attended the Woolwich Works Futures Fair, an inspiring day designed to help young people explore the many opportunities available to them beyond Year 11.

The event provided an important opportunity for students to begin thinking about their next steps. Students were able to explore a diverse range of pathways, including local sixth forms and colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and employers across the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Throughout the day, our students engaged enthusiastically with education providers and employers, asking thoughtful questions and gathering valuable information about different routes into further education, training and employment.

These conversations gave students a greater understanding of the choices available to them and encouraged them to consider how their interests, strengths and ambitions could shape their future.

Events such as the Woolwich Works Futures Fair play an important role in supporting students to make informed and confident decisions. By meeting professionals and education providers directly, students can gain practical insight into the world beyond school and begin to understand the different routes they can take towards their long-term goals.

We were incredibly proud to see the enthusiasm, curiosity and ambition demonstrated by our Year 11 students. Their willingness to explore new possibilities reflects the importance of providing young people with meaningful opportunities to broaden their horizons and take ownership of their future.

The experience reflects our mission of providing transformational education for all, ensuring every student has access to the knowledge, experiences and opportunities they need to make informed choices and confidently shape their future.
