This year our CEO, Gillian Kemp, along with SPW's Head of School, Firdusi Uddin, were invited to the Education and Skills Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. The event was hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla to showcase the recognition of the hard work and devotion of those who work across the education sector.

Held in the stunning gardens of the palace, the ceremony saw 7,000 people coming together to appreciate everyone's hard work and commitment. Also in attendance was the Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson.

The royal garden parties have been a tradition since the mid-19th century giving the standing monarch an opportunity to recognise the contributions of invaluable community members.

This year's party did not stray from this tradition, we witnessed teachers, administrators, and benefactors from around the nation uniting to celebrate their common role of educating the next generation.

Reflecting on the experience, Gillian Kemp said, “It is an honour to represent University Schools Trust at such a prestigious event. It’s not every day you get invited to be a guest of His Majesty and meet so many wonderful people working within education. King Charles spoke so passionately about the critical role we play in our society, and it is a reminder of the role we play in supporting everyone within our community.”

It was not only the day to celebrate academic achievement, but also the moment to remember the importance of the work being conducted in schools, colleges, and communities across the country.

As the event came to a close, it became clear that all the attendees were motivated to continue their devotion to transformational education.
