We were delighted to welcome Maro Itoje and ITV News to St Paul’s Way Primary School, marking an exciting moment for our school community.

Maro’s visit comes as a result of our partnership with Action Tutoring, a charity dedicated to supporting pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds through high-quality maths and English tutoring.

St Paul’s Way Primary has recently become a partner school, enabling our pupils to benefit from targeted academic support designed to build confidence and close attainment gaps.

This opportunity has been made possible through the Maro Itoje Pearl Fund, which provides funding to organisations like Action Tutoring to expand their reach and impact.

While the Pearl Fund does not work directly in schools, its support plays a vital role in ensuring that more pupils can access structured tutoring programmes.

During his visit, Maro met with pupils and staff, gaining insight into the tutoring sessions and the positive impact they are already having within the classroom.

The young learners also had the exciting opportunity to take part in a Q&A session, where they asked Maro questions directly about his career, education and experiences.

His presence was an inspiration, reinforcing the importance of dedication, resilience and a commitment to learning both in and beyond school.
