Royal Greenwich Trust School Explore Future Pathways at University of East London Careers Insight Day

Recently students from RGTS had the opportunity to visit the University of East London’s Docklands campus for an engaging Careers Insight Day, delivered in partnership with the East London Business Alliance (ELBA).

The programme was designed to help students better understand the connection between their current studies and future career opportunities. Throughout the day, students were encouraged to reflect on their individual interests, strengths and ambitions, helping them to begin considering the pathways that may be available to them after school and further education.

A guided tour of the campus gave students a valuable insight into university life, allowing them to experience the environment first hand and gain a better understanding of what higher education can offer.

For many, it was an opportunity to see a university setting up close and broaden their aspirations for the future.

Students also took part in an interactive workshop focused on Artificial Intelligence and future careers. The session explored key concepts including Industry 5.0, emerging technologies and the evolving nature of the workplace. Through discussion and practical activities, students gained a deeper understanding of how technological developments are shaping industries and creating new opportunities.

The visit encouraged the young learners to think proactively about their futures and the decisions they will make as they progress through their education. Feedback from students reflected the positive impact of the experience, with many appreciating the chance to do something different and learn more about university life.

At University Schools Trust, we are committed to providing transformational education. Experiences such as this play an important role in raising aspirations, broadening horizons and supporting informed decision making.

We are grateful to our partners at the University of East London and ELBA for helping to create meaningful opportunities that inspire and empower our young learners.
