St Paul’s Way Primary ‘You Are A Scientist’ Workshop With QMUL

As part of our commitment to creating inspiring learning opportunities across University Schools Trust, pupils from St Paul’s Way Primary recently took part in an exciting science workshop with students from Queen Mary University of London.

The session gave pupils the opportunity to explore a range of fascinating scientific topics including space, gravity, sports technology, astronomy and pharmaceutical science. Working alongside university students, pupils discovered how science is used in everyday life and how innovation continues to shape the world around us.

The university students guided pupils through engaging demonstrations, discussions and practical activities, making complex scientific ideas accessible and exciting. Pupils were encouraged to investigate new concepts, ask questions and develop a deeper understanding of how things work.

During the workshop, pupils explored gravity and forces through interactive experiments, learnt more about planets and the universe, discovered how science can improve sports equipment and performance, and found out how pharmaceutical science supports the development of medicines that help people.

Throughout the experience, pupils demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork and a genuine passion for learning. They collaborated effectively, shared ideas and applied their knowledge during activities.

The workshop also helped pupils build confidence when working with university students and encouraged them to think about future opportunities within science, technology and innovation.

This workshop reflects the our Trust’s mission of providing transformational education for all. Experiences that extend beyond the classroom support students in developing confidence, broadening their horizons and discovering new pathways. By providing access to inspiring opportunities, we empower every learner to reach their potential and imagine what they can achieve.
