St Paul’s Way Visits Careers in Focus Into University Programme

Recently, students from St Pauls Way secondary took part in the three day Careers in Focus programme, giving them the opportunity to explore a wide range of career pathways and gain valuable insight into the world of work. The programme introduced students to professionals from a variety of industries and encouraged them to think about the many opportunities available to them in the future.

Throughout the three days, students met representatives from Google, Roche and HM Treasury, who shared their career journeys, discussed their roles and explained the skills and qualities that are valued in their industries. Students learned about different routes into employment, including university, apprenticeships and professional training, helping them understand that there are many pathways to achieving their ambitions.

As part of the programme, students also visited Fitch, where they took part in an exciting team based competition. Working together in groups, they applied their creativity, problem solving and communication skills to tackle real world challenges.

The experience encouraged students to think critically, listen to different ideas and work collaboratively to develop effective solutions.

The programme gave students the opportunity to ask questions, hear from professionals with a range of experiences and develop a greater understanding of the skills that employers value. By connecting classroom learning with real workplace experiences, students were able to see how the knowledge they develop at school can support their future careers.

This experience reflects our mission of providing transformational education for all. By connecting students with industry professionals and providing meaningful experiences beyond the classroom, we are equipping every young person with the knowledge, confidence and skills to make informed choices, realise their potential and succeed in education, employment and beyond.
