We are delighted to extend our thanks to HSBC for hosting a series of innovative and inspiring workshops for pupils and students across our schools last academic year.

From primary to sixth form, students were welcomed into HSBC’s Innovation Centre and Tower at Canary Wharf to experience first-hand the possibilities that coding, creativity and technology can bring to their future pathways.

Our primary schools, Cyril Jackson, St Paul’s Way Primary and Sir William Burrough Primary were introduced to the world of programming in a fun and interactive way.

Pupils coded shapes using the Imagi app, explored the role of functions, and experienced the thrill of virtual reality.

For many, it was their first time using this technology, and the excitement of designing, creating and experimenting sparked curiosity and joy.

At Royal Greenwich Trust School, Year 10 students built on these fundamentals with deeper insights into coding structures and the creativity behind programming.

They too were given the opportunity to use VR headsets, which left a lasting impression and encouraged them to see technology as both accessible and full of potential.

For our sixth formers at St Paul’s Way, the day was tailored to a more advanced exploration of STEAM industries.

Students toured the HSBC Tower, engaged with graduate mentors, and received practical career development advice.

They were introduced to the real world impact of artificial intelligence, as well as guidance on preparing for future applications and career choices.

These experiences highlight the commitment of UST and our partners to providing transformational opportunities for every stage of education.

They perfectly reflect our goal of innovative learning, as students across all phases were inspired to imagine new possibilities, set ambitious goals, and see themselves as the innovators of tomorrow.
