Royal Greenwich Trust School recently opened its doors to prospective Year 7 students and their families for an exciting admissions Open Day, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience school life and discover the wide range of opportunities available to students.
The event offered families a hands-on introduction to learning across the curriculum. In science, visitors could take part in exciting practical activities involving fire and static electricity, giving them the chance to explore scientific ideas in an engaging and memorable way.
Creativity was also at the heart of the day, with prospective students welcomed into the art department to try a variety of workshops and explore different artistic techniques. Visitors had the opportunity to meet teachers from across the school, ask questions and get a taste of the subjects they could look forward to studying at Royal Greenwich Trust School.
The school’s PE hall was also full of activity, with guests invited to take part in a range of sports, including football and high jump. These sessions provided a great opportunity for visitors to experience the school’s facilities while having fun and getting active.
Food technology proved to be another popular part of the day, with prospective students and their families able to sample a selection of sweet treats, pizza and pasties created by talented Royal Greenwich Trust School students. The experience showcased the creativity, practical skills and pride students develop through their learning.
Open Days such as this provide an important opportunity for families to experience a school beyond its classrooms and discover the character of its community.
The event reflects University Schools Trust’s mission of providing transformational education for all, ensuring every young person has opportunities to explore their interests, discover their talents and develop the knowledge, character and confidence to thrive.
